SEO is Dead02 Jun

Yes, my main business is SEO and by writing “SEO is Dead” I’m pretty much saying my SEO services are non-effective. But that’s not the case. SEO, as most fundemental search engine junkies know it, has shifted more towards marketing and is a component of SEM – Search Engine Marketing.

If you thought SEO and SEM were the same and often used interchanglebly, your not alone. SEM encompasses SEO encorporating a great deal of marketing strategy and tactics. Facebook, Twitter, Digg, and every other social media platform is utilized in SEM. Just going through email marketing, PPC, sales funnels, and high level analytics and you begin to get into the thick of what SEM is all about.

Here is a quick guide on the know for the top 3 SEM tools.

Email Marketing
Why is this important? Because you connect with new customers and maintain relationships with your exisiting customers. I’m sure you have heard of the 80/20 rule right? Well if you havn’t, 80 percent of your business comes from 20 percent of your existing client base. How true or accurate this phenomenon is can be be debated. We do know that it is true to an extent. Having a smart well planned strategy for capturing emails and marketing your lists can increase your client base and grow your sales.

PPC
Wait! Isn’t SEO supposed to be the answer to not wasting money on PPC? Yes. No. You see with a smart PPC plan you can quickly bring traffic to your website and then test results. When managed and tracked correctly you quickly find which keywords convert and THEN you optimize your website and landing pages with these keywords. Cha-Ching.

Social Media
I know, I know. Tweet this, twitter that. Facebook, myspace, Digg. It can get real confusing very quickly. The bottom line here is you need to do it because a lot of potential customers are using it. These are all channels to “Spread your message.” The trick is to do it efficiently and to NOT come off as being a marketer.

Local Search: Google Update09 Apr

When Monday rolled around I could here that old Cypress Hill hook going off in my head, “I think I’m going crazy…” as my friends who try to do their own SEO and sometimes choose to ignore my advice and instead choose to waste their time with flash-pan marketing tactics began calling me saying their sites have dropped off Google. Hmm. Am I venting a little? Yes. Am I reveling inside because I knew I was right? Absolutely.

I told you this day was coming, I announced it in my post on March 3rd “Big Brother: Behavioral Tracking.” Google has let the world know it will be in the business of telling you you’re really looking for. It’s no longer an assumption, it is official.

Localized search is the new playground for marketers. SEO insiders have been predicting localized search algorithms for a long time now, Google has been refining it for even longer. Take a look at the date on their patent for Ranking search results by reranking the results based on local inter-connectivity. In order to play nice and show up in Google’s updated search algorithm, they are relying on website owners to leave a digital footprint of where they are serving from. How do you do this? There are several ways, none of which I will share with you unless you sign up for our services of course! But really, the “tricks” on doing this should be obvious. I’ll hang one out there. Register your website with a local directory!

Now, if this sounds alien to you then by all means please contact us for our services. We’ve been preparing for this for several years and know what it takes to dominate local search results and stomp the competition.

Recession Proof E-Commerce04 Apr

Everyone is and has been feeling the credit crunch, contracting economy, downturn, or whatever kill word for what is going on with our banks, jobs, housing market, and overall economy. Besides handouts from the government, one area that seems to be recession proof is the online market. Whether you’re doing straight forward e-commerce or soliciting your services, going online to turn a buck is proving to be a smart choice. I manage several e-commerce clients, all of which are doing quite well in these times. One client, who has a products range from $99 – $400 is having fantastic sales growth. It makes you wonder if all the “Recession” talk is really real.

The point I’m trying to make here is that America is all about opportunity. We live in a country where you can pretty much start your own business and with hard work, strategy, belief, and a little luck, can be very successful in this free enterprise economy.

So, what do you want to do? Do you have any strong interests in a personal hobby that can be turned into a business? Or are you really good at helping other people but have never thought of selling it as a service? Folks, it’s now or never. Starting a business should not be scary, it should be fun!

Here’s a little example from my own experience. When I was a child and through my teenage years I was obsessed with remote control cars, airplanes, and helicopters. I knew everything about them. Just last year I decided to put together a website that offered these items, but without having to buy inventory. How did I do it? Ebay. I signed up as an affiliate, I found a niche (Kyosho RC) and made a website that neatly organized all the Kyosho RC products. You can see it here: www.kyosho-rc-store.com This little gem that took me 1 day to put together brings me residual income every month. It’s completely on autopilot!

So after that little store went up I setup several other mini sites that are doing the same thing. The saying in our business is “If it works, lather, rinse, repeat.”

Listen, I love business. I love taking an idea and turning into a dollar. Starting a business can be fun, just keep in mind that like a baby, you must nurture it, believe in it, and most of all love it.

If you have an idea on a product you want to sell or service to offer we can help you bring it to life without busting the bank. We work with any budget as long as you are committed to see it to the end.

Give us a call or fill out our contact form today and get started on your American Dream now!
